A new report claims the Asia Pacific was a dominating regional hotspot for international tourists in 2025.
Last month, Euromonitor International released its annual Top 100 City Destinations Index. Within the report, the London-based market research firm released its ranking of 2025’s most visited cities by international visitors. Bangkok topped the list, with 30.3 million people reportedly arriving in Thailand’s capital. Suitable for both short-term and long-term travelers, the city is beloved for its grand temples, delicious street food, and unforgettable nightlife. Travel inspiration for visits to Bangkok may have been further influenced by HBO’s The White Lotus, which featured the city in its latest season, debuting back in April.
Hong Kong ranked second on Euromonitor International’s list of most visited cities this year, with 23.2 million international visitors. Per the report, London ranked third, with 22.7 million visitors.
On a regional level, the top 10 list shows that Asia-Pacific locations accounted for nearly half of 2025’s most visited cities. That doesn’t include ranked destinations in Turkey, which is sometimes also considered part of the Asia Pacific, according to the World Population Review.
Euromonitor International’s Top 10 List Of 2025’s Most Visited Cities By International Arrivals:

What Other Insights Were There About International Travel In 2025?
Earlier this month, Euromonitor International’s Global Head of Loyalty, Nadejda Popova, commented on the state of international travel and the organization’s annual index. She said, “Even amid economic headwinds and geopolitical uncertainty, global travel proved exceptionally resilient in 2025. International arrivals to the top 100 cities climbed 8% to 702 million, highlighting the ability of cities to adapt, innovate, and deliver experiences that travelers continue to find irresistible.”
“City destinations are entering a pivotal new era, marked by ambitious investment, rapid innovation, and the wide-scale integration of AI. As cities compete for visitors, the focus is shifting towards sustainability, resilience, and delivering meaningful, personalized experiences. The 2025 Index highlights those destinations that are not only thriving today but also setting the standard for the future of urban tourism,” she added.
